Our Apprentice to Site Supervisor pathway program supports apprentices from their chosen trade to the next stage of their career, towards becoming the next Site Supervisors, Project Managers or Construction Managers.
This Program offers an exciting opportunity for apprentices, current and past, who aspire to higher study, which will see an apprentice begin to study the Diploma of Project Management while concurrently completing their apprenticeship.
Master Builders Education Centre in Sydney’s Norwest (Baulkham Hills) offers the ability for Apprentices to undertake project based learning, gaining hands on experience in construction skills for each of the key elements of building. This program is open to all apprentices who meet the entry requirements – no matter where you are doing your trade study you can take part in this pathway, you do not need to be serving your apprenticeship with Master Builders.
As early as 18 months into their trade training, apprentices can start the Diploma of Project Management. This 12 month program allows for blended training involving classroom and webinar training after they have finished work.
On successful completion of the, apprenticeship and diploma, the apprentice can earn one year’s worth of exemption into a Bachelor of Construction Management at one of the following four universities who have been instrumental in developing the pathway programs:
• University of Technology, Sydney
• University of Newcastle
• Western Sydney University
• Canberra University
The Program will include mentoring and study assistance for the participants.
A built-in feature of the Program is the ability for participants to step-off the pathway, upon completion of each stage, if they wish. Participants can jump back in at the commencement of each stage, at a later date.
