It's an exciting time for Scouts Australia. We are getting ready to launch a new Youth Program in 2019, and we need a name that is going to capture its essence and inspire all Scouts!
What Will the New Youth Program Be Like?
The SPICES* of Scouting will be more important than ever and the new Youth Program will emphasise fundamentals like Youth Leading, Adults Supporting, and that we always Plan>Do>Review> our projects and events.
The four Challenge Areas will be Community, Creative, Personal Growth and Outdoor.
There will be nine stages of Outdoor Adventure Skills and six Special Interest Areas.
Youth members will be able to progress at their own pace, allowing greater growth opportunities. Participating in the program will develop young people's teamwork, independence and other skills that will be needed and valued in the society of the future.
Above all, it will encourage more young Australians to get involved and gain the benefits of Scouting for many years to come.
*Our SPICES are the six areas of personal growth Social, Physical, Intellectual, Character, Emotional and Spiritual
