The PWSA Vic is a volunteer lead organisation that receives no government support or funding. We rely heavily on the support of our community and their willingness to volunteer.
The PWSA Vic have recently formed various committees to assist with sustainability and viability of the organisation. Each committee has a co-ordinator and team appointed from the PWSA Board to ensure management of those committees runs smoothly and that each of the PWSA Vic board members are actively involved in projects and making a difference for our community.
The Boards expertise, as parents and carers of children with PWS, means that we are an organisation that are open to assistance from anyone who is willing to lend a hand. In other words, you don't need qualifications, or need to be an expert in any field, to volunteer with the PWSA Vic. You also don't need to formally commit to any time and can opt out of your volunteer role whenever you like. All we ask is that you have a passion for wanting the best outcomes for those living with PWS and their families.
In order to ensure our sustainability and viabilty we often seek support from our community to help us find the right people for the projects that we have on the go that will help our community. Currently, we have a number of projects in our pipeline which are on hold due to our resourcing. It would be great to see these project proposals become a reality and see our community benefit from the work that will go into these.
Recently you registered to become a member of the PWSA Vic. Within the application the following question was asked: 'Would you like to volunteer your time for the PWSA Vic?' your answer to this question reflected that you would/may be interested in helping out.
We would love to hear from you to see which areas you feel that you would be able to help the PWSA Vic in our endeavours to provide world leading supports and services to our PWS population.
