Terms and conditions
There are 3 different spaces available for stalls.
1) 150cm wide by 75cm deep space on a communal fixed table.
2) Freestanding trestle table approx 200cm by 75cm deep.
3) Floor space of 225cm wide by 125cm deep for your own table and/or set up (clothes rack, etc)
Stalls can be shared by up to 2 artists if desired. You will only need to submit one application, but will need to double up on everything on the application, filling out each requirement twice, one for each artist.
Each stall is $20, regardless of which space you choose or if it is shared by 2 artists.
Stall holders may not display their goods outside of their designated spaces.
Stalls must be supervised by holders at all time.
We encourage stall holders to make their goods and stalls as visually appealing as possible. Best looking stall gets a free CD
Set up/pack down
11:30am - Stall holders have access to site to start setting up. Upon arrival, sites will be designated. These will not change from what type of space was selected in application.
12:30pm - Market will open, all stalls must be ready by this time.
5:00pm - Market closes and packdown begins. All stalls must stay open until this time and cannot pack up beforehand.
6:00pm - Space must be cleared by this time.
Pack up and down of stalls is the responsibility of the stall holders, however Edge will try to assist where we can. If special assistance is needed for pack up/down make note in special requirements/comments section of application or email Edge before event.
Successful applicants will need to make payment for the stall by 1 week prior to the event (13/10/19). If payment is not made by this time you forfeit your stall and it will be given to someone else. This payment is non-refundable.
Details for payment will be sent along with notification of a successful application.
Care for space/staff/volunteers
Shambles has kindly let us use their great event space for the market. We expect stall holders to respect the space and leave it in a tidy and respectable way. Any costs arising from damages to tables or the space will fall upon the stall holders.
We want the Edge Radio Arts Market to be a family friendly and welcoming space, so we expect respect for the Shambles staff, Edge volunteers and to all punters at event. If you display any anti-social behaviour you will be asked to pack up your stall and leave without a refund. This is non negotiable.
Shambles has no parking, but there is heaps of street parking around. Once the market opens we would appreciate it if you could move any cars you bring further away so that there is room for customers to park.
There are toilets at Shambles.
The closest ATM to Shambles is the Shell service station up Elizabeth street (Approx 3min walk).
The price of goods being sold is up to the stall holder/s, as is discretion of returns, faulty goods or change of mind (In accordance with the ACCC).
Floats, handling of money, valuables, condition of goods and any lost/misplaced money is the responsibility of stall holders. We recommend using a bum bag for money, so that it is never unattended (plus it’s stylish), and having a sufficient amount of cash for change. If stallholders wish to set up an eftpos system they are more than welcome to, but it will be the stallholders responsibility to ensure it functions properly.
If you cannot make the market please let us know ASAP, as we will try to reallocate it to someone else. Unfortunately we cannot offer refunds for stalls once payment is made.
If you do not show up on the day without notification and/or your stall isn’t ready by 12:30pm, you forfeit both your payment and your stall at the market, which will be reallocated.
Food and Drink
Unfortunately you cannot sell food and/or drinks at your stalls. (However you are more than welcome to get either from the Shambles bar.)
Edge will be marketing the event on air (99.3fm) as well as via social media and at other Sweet 16 events. We encourage stall holders to also share and promote the event and your stall via social media, website and plain old word of mouth! Our hashtag is #edgeonair and we encourage vendors to share and tag us throughout the event.
Our event is insured by the host ‘Shambles Brewery’.
However, if a claim is made against an individual stall-holder for loss or damage howsoever arising you will not be covered by the host’s insurance. This includes loss or damage arising out of weather conditions or the cancellation of the event (unless in the rare event noted under "Cancellation" below). Fees are non-refundable.
In the highly unlikely event Edge or Shambles has to cancel the event, stall holders will be notified and refunded their $20 payment ASAP.
We want the Edge Radio Art’s Market to be a welcoming and family friendly space, and we want stall holders to take this into account when selecting goods to be sold/showcased.
