Q. How do I begin the course?

There is also an on court component to the course that is completed after the online. Over 18 officials can begin on court immediately on completion of the online content. Under 18 officials are required to attend introductory sessions (usually held every 6 months) before commencing.
Q. How long until I can get my C Grade/stripes?
A. This depends on how you go on court, and how quickly you are able to turn the information in the course into actions on the court. 10-12 weeks would be a reasonable expectation for the time to get accredited. If you are available multiple days a week and referee more games you will progress faster. If you take time off, or have less basketball experience it can take longer.
Q. Is there a minimum age?
A. Referees must be 14 years old to do the course.
Q. (OVER 18 ONLY) What type of working with children's check do I need?
A. A volunteer check is all you need and is free to apply for.
Q. I just want to do the course and referee at another association, is this ok?
A. Yes as long as you make this clear when you register your interest.
