About Orange Sky
Orange Sky Australia (OSA) is a not-for-profit organisation focused on the provision of free laundry and showers to people experiencing homelessness. We're growing, and fast. Since 2014, we've expanded our reach to every capital city in Australia and most recently, we have established Orange Sky New Zealand. Next steps include further growth in New Zealand, urban and remote Australia, and potentially elsewhere across the globe.
Through a network of 28 vans and with the help of almost 2,000 volunteers across Australia and NZ, our mobile service is a catalyst for positive, genuine connections. We can almost guarantee no two days will ever be the same; we're dynamic, incredibly ambitious, and at times a little unconventional. In a nutshell, we need someone who thrives in a fast-paced, agile environment, thinking outside the square to deliver an outstanding service to connect our friends on the street with the community.
We take our work seriously, but not ourselves. We work hard and ‘get it done’, but always make time to celebrate each other’s success.
Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Operating Officer will be responsible for overseeing all Orange Sky services and operations throughout Australia and New Zealand.
You’ll develop and oversee the strategy of Orange Sky’s operations, including the following functions:
Health, Safety, Environment & Risk
Vehicle Operations, including builds and maintenance
Training & Development
This senior leadership role couldn’t be further from a 9-5 paper-pushing desk job; our ideal applicant has substantial business management experience and success at a high level, ideally within the non-profit sector, but also isn’t afraid of being hands-on, giving things a crack, and empowering their team.
In a nutshell, you’ll bring excellent interpersonal skills and extensive management experience to oversee and ensure the efficiency of ongoing operations, drive the development and improvement of our services and lead a team of exceptionally talented Program, Operations and Volunteer Managers, and Training, Health & Safety professionals across all aspects of Orange Sky operations. What could be better, right?
In addition to an amazing working environment, and meaningful work making a difference in peoples' lives, we offer employees generous salary sacrificing benefits, learning and development opportunities and flexible work hours.
