Please be aware that many of the galleries on the north side of the Museum remain closed while remedial works are planned and undertaken, and we ask that schools do not undertake self-guided trips at this time. If you are wanting to visit the Museum, we ask that you book onto a programme.
Spaces that remain closed are:
· Māori Court
· Pacific Galleries
· Te Taunga Community Hub
· Volcanoes
· Pou Maumahara
· Pou Kanohi
· World War I Hall of Memories
Due to certain gallery closures we are currently unable to deliver our Witness to History World War One and Witness to History World War Two learning programmes.
Please know that our Origins Gallery while open, can only host a limited number of visitors at a time. This may impact your school visit.
We would like to thank you for your patience and continued support while we worked through this issue. Please contact us for any further clarification to your current or future booking.
Please be aware that many of the galleries on the north side of the Museum remain closed while remedial works are planned. Due to this our numbers for onsite school bookings and self-guided bookings are reduced to ensure we can keep everyone safe.
We have provided a copy of a map that shows what galleries are open and what galleries are closed. The link is here. We have three galleries that have reduced capacity. They can have no more than 50 people in at a time. Please note we have also provided a list of closed galleries below.
