Scholarship Application Form
Please check you meet the criteria before submitting your application. The scholarship criteria is set out on our website www.awaruatrust.org.nz. If you have any queries in relation to completing the application form please e-mail us at info@awaruatrust.org.nz. Once we receive your application we will send you an e-mail confirming receipt. New Scholarship applications are considered at each trust meeting, held every 2 months. For consideration of continuation of a Scholarship for Semester 1 in any year the results from Semester 2 of the previous year must be received at least 1 week prior to the February Meeting date for the relevant year. For consideration of continuation of a Scholarship for Semester 2 in any year the results from Semester 1 of the current year must be received at least 1 week prior to the August Meeting date for the relevant year. If a student is having trouble/delays in obtaining results they must communicate this with the trustees. We will then advise you the outcome of the Trustees decision as soon as possible after the meeting.

Please read the following notes and provide confirmation that you agree to the same. The Trustees are committed to selecting the most suitable recipients in a fair and open manner. The Trustees may seek further information from me when considering my application. I may be asked to attend an interview with the Trustees. In the event that the scholarship is not used in a manner which complies with the conditions of the application (as determined by the Trustees) I will return the scholarship in full to the Trust within 7 days. If the scholarship is not returned, I will reimburse the Trust for all costs incurred (including legal costs on a solicitor/client basis) in recovering the scholarship from me. All scholarship monies will be used for the purpose for which I have applied for them and will be used within six months from the date I receive the funds. I am obliged to refund the money if I receive funding from a different source for the same purpose. I will provide copies of all invoices, receipts and bank statements if requested to do so by the Trustees. If I do not use all the scholarship funds within six months from the date they are paid to me, I will refund the surplus to the Trust. I will comply with any request from the Trust for additional information in relation to how the monies have been spent by me.
