• Dear Mum & Dad,

Thank you for booking a trial lesson at Forte School of Music.
We would like to make your experience with us a really positive one so please take a couple of minutes to complete this 'About You’ page so your teacher can be prepared for your lesson.

This is the first step in our Forte Personalised Learning Program where we customise a learning program for each student to suit their age, instrument, interests, practice time availability, aims and desires.

We ask this general information now so that we can kick off our journey together and to start establishing the all-important student/teacher relationship from the outset.

    Thanks

The Team @ Forte School of Music

  • Background

A really good student/teacher relationship is key to learning anything. Discovering common ground really helps. Sometimes we may teach a friend from the same school or your teacher may also be an oldest/youngest child or there may be some other common interest.

Tell us more about your child so his/her teacher can create a connection more easily.

  • Previous Musical Experience

If you child has learnt another musical instrument before, we will be on the lookout to see how we can fast track them his/her learning. For example, they may already be able to read some notes or understand some of the musical symbols.

  • Music in your Home

Often when there is another musical person in the home a child will be used to hearing music being played or practised. This forms part of the musical culture of the home and potential practice helpers. If no one does, not worry, it just clues us in to your home environment and we can give you some tips in how to establish a musical culture at your place.

  • The Future

Let us know where there may be some future inkling of extending your child’s musical interests in the band program or orchestra, choirs etc. If your child is keen to join a group in the near future, let us know so we can focus on skills that will help them get accepted into the program.
