    Rule 7.1 of the WRC Rules requires that membership applications must be made in writing. Please complete the form below to sign up for membership of the Wakatipu Rowing Club Inc. Payment of subs is not required as part of submitting this application. "This form is NOT for WHS Students"

  • Rowers Conduct & Personal Behaviour Rules

    1. A Rower shall act in ways that enhance the reputation of the Wakatipu Rowing Club (“Club”) and /or Wakatipu High School (“WHS”) and Club sponsors.
    2. Rowers must model high standards of behaviour at all times (while wearing the Club uniform Rowers are easily identified so their behaviour must reflect the Club standards).
    3. While away at the regatta and particularly at the house, Rowers must respect and obey the decisions of those in charge.  House parents and coaches give up their time to attend these events.
    4. Drugs, alcohol or smoking by any WHS Rowers is not allowed.  Club Grade Rowers shall not provide WHS Rowers with any of these substances whilst at club events or regattas.
    5. Bad language will not be tolerated.
    6. Coaches instructions are to be adhered to.
    7. While staying at the houses no opposite sex shall enter another’s bedroom, interaction is only allowed in the living areas of the house while an adult is present.
    8. While travelling each Rower must adhere to the drivers' instructions. Vehicles are to be respected and left tidy.
    9. Each Rower shall be responsible for the safety of all other Rowers and shall be aware of best, safe practices on land and water.
    10. At boat loading and unloading, all Rowers must help and follow the instructions from coaches and/or senior Rowers.
    11. Rowers may only use boats allocated by the coach, and may only proceed onto the water under the coach's supervision.
    12. Damage to any boats while at the regatta must be brought to the attention of the coach or club captain immediately.
    13. Proper care shall be taken in handling boats both on and off the water.
    14. Coxswains must wear approved lifejackets in any boat.
    15. All equipment is to be washed down after any use to prevent the spread of dydimo.
  • Once you submit your application, it will be considered at the next regular committee meeting. During this consideration period, you will have access to the club equipment.
