    EMT Program Overview

    We are excited that you have chosen a career in EMS, and look forward to helping you achieve your goal of becoming a certified medical professional! Please read below about some of the most common topics new students ask about our EMT Program. This program is designed around National Registry standards for National Registry EMT certification.

    The hybrid EMT Program consists of 3 parts, the online portion, the live in-person training, and clinical internship. We have 2 options for completion, a 6 month option or 9 month option. While our programs are self-paced and allow for faster completion, there is a maximum amount of time allowed for each of our programs.

    The online portion takes on average 3 months to complete, and includes the online coursework, weekly chat-rooms, and online proctored final exam. A real instructor will be available to you via email and in the weekly chat rooms during this portion.

    The live training portion consists of a 2-day EMT Skills training/testing session with a live instructor, and a minimum of 100 hours of clinical rotations at PERCOMOnline affiliated hospitals and EMS providers. The 2-day skill session is the Psychomotor Exam portion of the National Registry EMT certification process. Our skill training sites are limited to Texas, and travelling to one of these sites will be required.

    Clinical rotations for EMT can be completed at sites in various states across the US. To view an up-to-date map of our affiliated clinical rotation sites, please CLICK HERE. EMT students can attend rotations and any site with a green or purple icon.

    Once all the EMT Program requirements have been successfully completed by the student, PERCOMOnline will issue an official EMT Course Completion certificate and will formally notify National Registry that the student is qualified to take the certification exam(not included in tuition).

    The EMT Program is open-enrollment, and after the background check has fully cleared and all other registration requirements have been completed, you will be fully enrolled and can start studying. This process typically takes anywhere from 7-10 day from signup.

This program is designed around the National Registry standards for National Registry AEMT certification.


    The hybrid AEMT Program consists of 3 parts, the online portion, the live in-person training, and clinical internship. Each student has up to 9 months to complete this program. Please read below about some of the most common topics new students ask about our Paramedic Program. This program is designed around National Registry standards for National Registry Paramedic certification.


    The hybrid Paramedic Program consists of 2 courses that are each 3 parts: the online portion, the live in-person training, clinical/EMS rotations, and final field internship. At the end of the Paramedic final field internship, each Paramedic student must pass a graduate scenario and interview exam with the program Medical Director. While our programs are self-paced and allow for faster completion, there is a maximum amount of time allowed for each of our programs. Maximum allowed time for our Paramedic Program is 20 months.

     
    The online portion of each course has a 5 month deadline to complete, and includes the online coursework, weekly chat-rooms, and online proctored final exam(1 per course). A real instructor will be available to you via email and in the weekly chat rooms during this portion.

     
    The live training portion consists of seven, 1-day Skills training/testing sessions with a live instructor, and a minimum of 636 hours of clinical rotations at Program affiliated hospitals and EMS providers. Our skill training sites are limited to Texas, and travelling to one of these sites will be required.

    EMS Instructor Program Overview

    We are excited that you have chosen a teaching career in EMS, and look forward to helping you achieve your goal! Please read below about some of the most common topics new students ask about our EMS Instructor Program. 


    The EMS Instructor course, a.k.a. Adult Methods of Teaching, is a 100% online program that is designed to be 12 weeks long. However, our online courses are self-paced, and allow students to complete this program much sooner. The maximum allowed time in course, however, is 3 months.


    The program is a Texas Department of State Health Services sponsored EMS Instructor training course, and the course final exam does qualify as the State of Texas EMS Instructor written exam. 


    This program can also be used by students from other disciplines needing to complete a 40 hour "Adult Methods of Teaching" course, if approved by their individual discipline and/or various states. Please check with your state if you are unsure if this program qualifies in your area.


    Students will have access to a live instructor via email during enrollment in this program. The course itself is 45 lessons broken up into 12 chapters. The TX Jurisprudence lesson and exam is also included in the coursework. The lessons themselves consist of videos, slideshow presentations, articles, homeworks, and 2 exams. 


    EMS Instructor Base Tuition: $299

    Paramedic Advanced Placement Program Overview

    We are excited that you have chosen to upgrade your professional level to Paramedic, and look forward to helping you achieve this goal! Please read below about some of the most common topics new students ask about our Advanced Placement Program for Paramedic. This program is designed around National Registry standards for National Registry EMTP certification.

    The Advanced Placement program was designed for certified & experienced Advanced EMT's to skip the first portion of our Paramedic Program by the way of challenging our Paramedic 1 Final Exam and Skills Test. 

    To qualify, each applicant must have a valid National Registry or Texas Advanced EMT certification, and a verifiable EMS experience resume complete with at least 3 professional references.

    After signup and payment of the Advanced Placement fee at PERCOMCourses.com, each applicant will complete a personal information form and background check with our vendor. Once the background check is clear, and the resume has been approved by our Program Director, the applicant will be sent a link to schedule the online challenge exam. 

    This exam is 150 questions, is timed and 2.5hrs max, is based around current National Registry AEMT standards, and is proctored by a Live Exam Instructor. The minimum passing score for the online exam is 70%.

    The skills test will be postponed until a later date, and is not necessary to complete prior to enrollment into Paramedic 2.

    Once the online challenge exam has been successfully completed, the applicant will be qualified to pay for and enroll into our Paramedic 2 Program.
