CONDITIONS OF PLAY
1. The tournament will be conducted in accordance with the Laws of Badminton adopted by the Badminton World Federation.
2. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to amend or add to these conditions as may be necessary and to cancel any event for which there are insufficient entries.
3. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to disqualify from any or all events, any player infringing these Conditions of Play or in any way interfering with the conduct of the Tournament.
4. Players must be on the court within 10 minutes of their name being called and must play as directed or forfeit the match. On court warm ups shall be restricted to 2 minutes.
5. All events will be played as round robin format.
6. Players may participate in a maximum of 3 events per day. Players can only enter 2 mixed doubles events.
7. GOSEN Tournament shuttles will be used exclusively throughout the Tournament.
8. Players MUST act as umpire or line judge when called upon to do so. Failure to comply with this condition renders the player liable to disqualification.
9. Any player entering more than one event may be called to play consecutive matches.
10. All players and spectators are advised that any form or abuse or aggravated behaviour towards court officials, organisers or volunteers will not be tolerated.
11. Clothing Regulations – The following dress code is to be adhered to and players will be asked to change clothing or forfeit matches:
- No singlets
– No shirts with other people’s names on them
– No shirts with other countries on it
- No players are permitted to wear a shirt of another state, unless they have represented that state, or a club not affiliated with the QBA (eg Qld player wearing NSW shirt is not permitted).
- No long pants are permitted unless a medical certificate from a doctor is given to the referee, stating that due a medical condition the pants must be worn or if there is a religious/cultural requirement for them to be worn.
-Tracksuits may be worn during warm up period, but may not be worn during a match.
- The Club name to be substituted for country name so long as the club is an approved affiliated club of a regional or state body affiliated with Badminton Australia. Players presenting for play not correctly attired may be disqualified. State Team uniforms will be permitted.
12. All advertising must meet BWF general competition regulation 23
13. The following must be adhered to in terms of advertising and lettering where that is present
on the shirt. LETTERING AND SEQUENCE
-lettering to be capital letters in Roman alphabet in single colour contrasting to shirt
- players name to be between 6-10cm height
- country name to be 5cm height
- Sponsor or advert name to be maximum 5cm at the back and maximum 10cm in the front.
- the sequence at the back of shirt from top down is players name (if present), country name (if present) and sponsor/advert name (if present).
14. Clothing General (BWF Regulation 19 to 23)
- An article of clothing shall be defined as anything worn or carried by the player during play, except the racket, and including, but not limited to pullovers, shirts, shorts, skirts, socks, shoes, headbands, towels, wristbands, bandages and medical supports.
- In order to ensure attractive presentation of Badminton at tournaments organised all clothing worn by players shall be acceptable Badminton sports clothing (no beach wear or gym wear). It is not acceptable to use tape over nor to pin on advertising nor in any other way to modify such clothing to comply with advertising or other regulations.
- Regulations regarding advertising apply only to clothing worn during play.
16. All players must be a competition member of the Queensland Badminton Association via an affiliated club or regional association. Proof of registration may be requested. If you live interstate, you must be a member of your State Association.
17. Players may enter their own Grade or one grade higher. Grades are determined by the Queensland Badminton Association. If in doubt, check with your local association.
18. If the Tournament is interrupted for any reason (power failure etc.) the Tournament Committee reserves the right to postpone any or all events until such time or date they consider suitable, or to abandon matches or events.
19. Refunds of entry fees are at the sole discretion of the Tournament Committee. NO refunds will be made after the draw has been published, except where the Tournament or event is abandoned and then, only at the discretion of the Tournament Committee
20. ALL decisions of the Referee (or the responsible official for the time being) are FINAL.
21. Local conditions: It will be a fault if, in play, the shuttle hits the roof or other part of the hall structure.
22. Players are limited to a Maximum of 3 events per day.
23. By entering this event, the player hereby agrees and acknowledges that NO VIDEO footage will be taken. The event organising committee will take and publish photos of players throughout the event.
