If you have previously made a Power of Attorney then you may need to specifically revoke that Power of Attorney, if you no longer wish it remain in force. The making of a new Power of Attorney may not revoke the old attorney, even though that is what you intend. If this is what you intend then we strongly suggest that you provide us with instructions to
1. send a letter of revocation to your previous attorney
2. ask for the holder of that attorney to return the attorney to us so that we can give it to you to destroy.
The sending of a letter from this firm will ensure that your wishes are documented.
Our fee to attend to this work is usually no more than $100 plus GST.
If you wish to keep in place a previous attorney then please let us know as it will be necessary to include a clause in the Power of Attorney to ensure that the previous Power of Attorney is not revoked.
