What does the course cover?

• This course is a comprehensive workshop conducted in both practical and theatrical training relating to the use of liquid applied waterproofing membranes specifically for under-tile applications.

• The workshop covers topics such as the Building Code, New Zealand (NZ) standards, substrate type and preparation consideration, warranties and MAPEI’s range of waterproofing products. The course is split into three segments with a presentation, demonstration and assessment part. The course will take up to six (6) hours to complete.

Who May Attend the Course?

• The course is open to Professional Trades People active in the building industry specifying or applying Mapei products. Applications from the public wanting to attend for personal use are not qualified.

• The course is conducted in English, therefore, it is a prerequisite that attendees can read, write, speak and understand English to a level they are able to comprehend the course material and complete the assessment questionnaire at the end of the course.

1. Introduction

1.1. The training provided is for Individuals, contractors or waterproofing company employees who apply MAPEI products.

1.2. Attendees must be actively involved in the building, construction or tiling industry.

1.3. The training course will take approximately 6 hours.

1.4. To pass the training, an assessment will need to be completed by the Attendee.

1.5. Upon completing a successful assessment, MAPEI NZ Ltd will provide a letter containing your trained applicator details, along with a MAPEI Waterproofing Trained Applicator ID Card.

2. Training conditions

2.1. An Applicator of Mapei Product is not an agent or employee of MAPEI NEW ZEALAND LTD (MAPEI NZ) and therefore MAPEI NZ takes no responsibility and assumes no liability for an Applicators workmanship.

2.2. An Applicator of Mapei product must assess the substrate and the product suitability for the intended application and final service provision of the product.

2.3. It is the sole responsibility of an Applicator to store a product, prepare a substrate and prepare, mix, and apply a Mapei product in accordance to the product Technical Data Sheet (TDS).

2.4. MAPEI product training is provided to an Applicator to give full understanding about Mapei products and the application of them in accordance to the product TDS.

2.5. If a Product Performance Warranty is requested for a product, the warranty does not cover installation, workmanship or product mixing and preparation aspects which are the sole responsibility of a product Applicator.

2.6. The training is valid for two years and may be renewed by completing a product knowledge assessment at the end of the valid term.

3. Confidential Undertaking

3.1. I, the Training Attendee here in after referred to as the "The Attendee", accept the content of the following Confidentiality Undertaking given in association with MAPEI NEW ZEALAND LIMITED here in after referred to as “MAPEI NZ” and together, here in after referred to as the “Parties” agree to be bound hereby.

3.2. All reference to Confidential Information, here in after referred to as “Information” is included in this expressed agreement and a reference to this information includes any part of such confidential information.

3.3. As a consideration of MAPEI NZ disclosing to the Attendee Information at the training course, the Attendee agrees to treat any Mapei specific information not in the public domain as confidential.

3.4. The undertakings in this agreement is binding during business between the Parties and will continue for a period of two (2) years after either party ceases business with the other, but will not apply to any Information which;

2.1.1 is in the public domain at the time of disclosure of such Information; or,

2.1.2 becomes part of the public domain at any time in the future; or,

2.1.3 the Attendee can prove was known to it at the time of disclosure by MAPEI NZ to the Attendee; or,

2.1.4 becomes lawfully available to the Attendee from a third party under no obligation to the Information; or,

2.1.5 the Attendee is required to disclose to comply with applicable laws, Governmental Agencies or Regulatory Bodies.

3.5. The Attendee acknowledges that all Information provided to it by MAPEI NZ and its authorized representatives is confidential and is being provided to the Attendee to provide product training for the purpose of its business.

3.6. The Attendee undertakes it will not disclose any of the Information to any other person other than the use of Mapei products.

3.7. This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand.

3.8. I, {nameOf}, have read and understand the content of this training course application form and hereby agree to uphold it.
