  • Adopter Readiness Policy
    To ensure the best outcomes for our rescue animals, we require all adopters to be ready to welcome their new dog into their home within 14 days of submitting an adoption application. If you are invited to a meet-and-greet that proceeds to an adoption trial, you must be prepared to collect your dog within 7 days of the meeting date.

    Due to the dynamic nature of rescue work and the constant demand on our limited resources, we are unable to hold puppies or dogs for future adoption dates. Our priority is to place animals into safe, loving homes as soon as they are ready.

    If you are not yet prepared to adopt within these timeframes, we kindly ask that you visit maggiesrescue.org/adopt again when you are ready to welcome a new family member into your home.
