Cover Letter

Please include the following:

• The purpose of undertaking your proposed program of training.
• Who you are seeking to train with?
• Where your training will take place?
• The duration of your intended training?
• Why do you believe that this teacher, studio, theatre company or methodology will further develop your craft and you as an actor/teacher?
• What is the ethos or philosophy that underpins your desire to undertake this specific training?
• A letter of acceptance from your studio, institution or individual that you are undertaking training with. 

Two Professional Letters of Reference.

Your letters of reference should come from industry professionals who are familiar with your work. Your references could range from an artistic director of a theatre company, to a director, producer or actor. All references must be received on letterhead including contact details of the referee. Please have your referees include how they believe your chosen training will benefit you as an actor/teacher.

Two Character References 

From people you are not related to and have known you for a minimum of five years. 

A Comprehensive and Accurate Budget Breakdown 

Please include all costs associated

• Course fee (Currency)
• Travel Expenses
• Accommodation
• Living expenses 

The scholarship can cover the entire cost of your training or part thereof. If the scholarship does not cover all costs associated with your training, please outline how you will finance the balance of your training.  

In the circumstances where you are applying for a proposed training program, please provide a hard copy of the prospectus.

Please provide the letter of acceptance with your submission.

Testimonials (If you are applying for the Teachers Scholarship)

Please submit any testimonials from actors you have worked with that articulate your qualities as a teacher and the contribution you have made to their artistic development.

For those of you who have worked predominantly in theatre
and have a limited showreel, please do not feel disadvantaged.

Please feel free to supply any reviews of your work that
you have received.  

 

Application Process:
Applicants will be notified once their application has been received
Successful shortlisted Applicants will be notified. Unsuccessful Applicants will be notified by email. We are unable to provide any feedback as to why the Applicant was not shortlisted. Applicants who are shortlisted will be interviewed by the selection committee of the 16th Street Foundation.
