*Coral Disease Note*
You may have heard that there has been an outbreak of a new coral disease called Stony Coral Tissue Loss Disease (SCTLD) in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Read more about the coral disease here: https://viepscor.org/sctld-outbreak.
You can help monitor the spread of the disease by reporting the locations of any "suspicious" or unhealthy-looking coral containing white spots or missing tissue (lesions) that you see when spearfishing, diving for lobster, freediving, etc. Please make a note of what you see and include the location from the fishing maps below. You do not have to be a coral disease expert! Any information you provide is helpful.
