2. What can you expect as a volunteer
2.1 Maggie’s Rescue undertakings
All our volunteers are valuable to us, so at Maggie’s Rescue we will ensure that:
a) your personal information will be kept confidential;
b) you will receive reimbursement for your reasonable expenses which are incurred
in accordance with any policy and procedure place by Maggie’s Rescue; and
c) you are covered by our public liability insurance policy (up to prescribed limits).
3. Acknowledgements of a volunteer
3.1 General
a) I acknowledge that as a volunteer, I am not entitled to receive remuneration for
my services and that I am not an employee, independent contractor or consultant
for Maggie’s Rescue, and nor is any employment or contractual relationship
intended between me and Maggie’s Rescue.
b) I acknowledge that as a volunteer, Maggie’s Rescue may terminate my services
at any time in its discretion, without providing any reason.
c) I confirm that there are no limitations on my ability to perform all of my duties
and responsibilities, and that by volunteering for Maggie’s Rescue I will not be
breaching any agreement I may have with any other party.

3.2 Discharge of duties
a) I agree to only undertake duties that I am authorised to perform and to comply
with any instruction or direction given to me by Maggie’s Rescue.
b) I agree to notify my supervisor or another member of staff of any health and
safety issues or potentially hazardous situations that may pose a risk to me or
others.
c) I agree to behave appropriately and courteously to all staff, clients and the public
in the course of my role.
d) In any activities I undertake as a volunteer for Maggie’s Rescue I agree to always
comply with all policies and procedures of Maggie’s Rescue, as well as all laws
and regulations, including in relation to workplace health and safety, and privacy.
e) I will perform my duties and responsibilities in a proper and efficient manner and
use my best endeavours to protect and promote the objectives of Maggie’s
Rescue.
f) I acknowledge and accept that the insurance of Maggie’s Rescue may not cover
any loss or damage caused by any of the following actions and that I will
indemnify Maggie’s Rescue for any claims, los, or damage sustained by Maggie’s
Rescue as a result of these actions:
a. Actions that are beyond the scope of my volunteer role;
b. Actions that occur without appropriate authority or permission;
c. Criminal activity (including criminal charges arising out of driving
incidents); or
d. Dishonest or reckless activities;
3.3 Workplace health and safety
a) I agree to comply with all my obligations in relation to work health and safety,
which include but are not limited to:
i. Taking reasonable care for my own health and safety;
ii. Taking reasonable care for the health and safety of others;
iii. Complying with any reasonable instruction by Maggie’s Rescue;
iv. Letting Maggie’s Rescue know of any concerns I may have about the
safety and/or my fitness or suitability in undertaking any task,
v. Co-operating with any reasonable policies and procedures of Maggie’s
Rescue; and
vi. Seeking clarification if I am unsure about my authority or suitability to
undertake any activity.

4. Confidentiality
I agree to always maintain, the confidentiality of all privileged or proprietary
information to which I am exposed to whilst as a Foster Carer with Maggie’s Rescue,
whether this information involves a potential adopter, a paid staff person, or any
other person, or agency business.

5. Contact person
Your main contact person at Maggie’s Rescue will be
volunteering@maggiesrescue.org. If you do not receive a response, you may also
email our Operations Manager at operationsmanager@maggiesrescue.org. If you
have any questions or concerns about your role, your health and safety, or if there is
any assistance you need to help you undertake your role, please contact one of these
representatives as soon as possible.

6. Acknowledgement and acceptance
Please sign below to acknowledge that you have read and agree to the terms and
conditions contained in this Volunteer Agreement and that you were given an
opportunity to ask questions.
