Patient must reside in CMDHB and be eligible for public health funding in New Zealand.

Patient must meet the Pharmac Special Authority criteria for osteoporosis.
Refer Zoledronic acid inj 0.05 mg per ml, 100 ml.
This subsidy is only available where the patient is unable to self fund the cost of the infusion.
Patient must EITHER hold a current Community Services Card, OR is quintile 4 or 5.
There must be documented intolerance to oral bisphosphonates
Oral therapy must be unsuitable (i.e. unable to remain upright for 30 mins after infusion, cognitive issues that prevent compliance,P1NP suggestive that oral bisphosphonates not effective)
