We are looking for short film concepts with a distinctive voice and original ideas.
Each applicant must submit 2-3 short film concept
s, the script of one of the films, or
another writing sample.
Use the boxes below to include written outlines of two or three short films. Each outline should be 200-500 words long and should explain the plot and tone of the film. We need to know what happens in the film. There is a 500 word limit for each concept.
The short film concepts can be at any stage, from new ideas through to first or second drafts. If you do have a full draft of a screenplay for any of your ideas, please submit the screenplay with your application. Please indicate the current status of each concept – new idea, draft script or developed project (e.g. multiple drafts written, storyboards, some creative team attached, etc.)
It is expected that either a first draft or a new draft of a screenplay for at least one of your short film ideas will be delivered two weeks prior to the lab.
If none of your concepts are at script stage, then we need to see a sample of your creative writing. This could be 10 pages of another script (screen or stage) or 2-5 pages of prose.
