What it means to be a Volunteer Supervisor:
The Internship program depends on having access to people who can adequately supervise and/or give skilled supervision related to the area of intern development.
The Role of a Suitable Volunteer Supervisor
Training – the supervisor must be willing to participate in ongoing training provided by Pathways College or provide evidence of prior supervisory training.
Time – the supervisor must be willing to meet with the student in a formal setting regularly, at least 1½ hours per fortnight, providing opportunity for in-depth spiritual reflection, evaluation, encouragement and advice. This is in addition to time spent by the supervisor in ministry activities with the student.
Reporting – the supervisor agrees to comment on, sign, and return all reports required as part of the Supervised Internship / Christian Service Experience. The supervisor will also meet with Pathways College personnel during pre-scheduled, on-site visits.
Characteristics of a Suitable Volunteer Supervisor
Character – the supervisor will display Christ-like character which results from a personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Education – the supervisor will have a recognised appropriate level of education.
Experience – the supervisor will have proven and appropriate ministry experience.
