Before you start:
Regions are now able and encouraged to conduct their own updating workshops. Regional education is the best way to provide quality professional development for multiple clubs residing in the same area. These workshops can include, and are not restricted too, club planning, risk management, sport specific training and mentoring.
Each workshop is worth 1 updating point per hour.
Maximum amount of updating points vary on the level of accrediation:
> BEG = 2
> INT = 3
> ADV = 6
> ADVS = 6
> HPF = 8
Regions must apply for sanctioning 6 weeks prior to the activity using this form. All workshops require the region to provide GNSW with a sanctioning fee of $55 per workshop at the time of submitting this application.
Regions can then choose how much they would like to charge participants. If your region wishes to charge a participant fee then GNSW will set up the appropriate forms for participants needing to enrol. Candidates must sign a course roll on the day of the workshop and this must be submitted to GNSW after the workshop to receive updating points.
When it comes to promoting your workshop your region has two options:
-
'OPEN'
Workshops
- The region host updating activities that are 'open' to all members of the gymnastics community. These Updating activities are advertised on the GNSW education calendar. Regions can then decide if they wish to charge participants not from their region a different amount.
-
'
CLOSED' Workshops
(The Region hosts Updating activities that are for their regional members only.
