Australia’s largest Lantern parade celebration returns to Adelaide! The 2017 Moon Lantern Festival is a key event of the Adelaide Festival Centre’s OzAsia Festival.
The 2017 Moon Lantern Festival has been re-visioned by organisers to focus on the parade route this year due to the redevelopment of Adelaide Riverbank and construction at Adelaide Festival Centre.
We will have a more compact Elder Park layout which means we will not have any stages for performance – instead, we have increased opportunities for pop-up and roving performances along the parade route from the new event start time of 5pm. Note, this is a later event start time than in previous years.
While the overall number of community groups able to perform on the day may reduce, community performances will infuse life into the OzAsia Festival food and entertainment hub across the 3-week festival. Please click here if you would like to perform at the Outdoor Hub during the Festival.
We also have space for workshops as in previous years, but ask that organisers keep these to 1 hour maximum.
We rely on the talents of our local groups to bring life to the Moon Lander Festival, so thank you for registering your interest. Please fill in this form so that we can learn more about your offering.
If you have many ideas of how you can contribute, you can add up to 3 proposals on this form.
Please note, applications close on Friday 30 June 2016.
