  • Cornerstone of Hope values interns, the care they provide our clients, and their integral role in our organization.  We are committed to providing all interns with a meaningful and successful educational placement.

    Our Commitment to Interns:

    • Access to clinical staff members with extensive trauma and bereavement training.
    • A comprehensive learning environment that teaches interns both micro and macro level skills.
    • Individualized attention to aid in professional development.
    • Weekly supervision from independently licensed clinicians with a supervisory designation and experience in the bereavement field.
    • A varying caseload that will include, but is not limited to: children, teens, adults, seniors, uncomplicated bereavement, and traumatic loss.
    • Facilitation of at least one support group during your internship.
    • Monthly opportunities for Professional Development Hours.

    Our Expectations:

    • A commitment of at least 16 hours a week at Cornerstone of Hope (this may equal or exceed your school requirement).
      • It is expected that interns maintain their weekly schedule as contracted, even once reaching the hours required by their school program.
      • It is also expected that interns maintain their weekly schedule during school breaks. Any request for time off during these periods must be approved in advance.
    • The commitment to attend weekly intern group supervision Tuesdays 1:00-3:00 PM.
    • Participation in both summer camps and three Cornerstone of Hope events.
    • While the majority of an intern’s experience revolves around clinical work, interns are also expected to engage in non-clinical work when needed such as making phone calls, working at the receptionist desk, etc.
