FINALIST DECLARATION
The copyright for your images will remain yours and we do not claim unlimited license to use your images, unlike many other competitions. However, shortlisted images can be requested by the media for use in features and news stories about the awards, exhibited in TPOTY exhibitions and published in the TPOTY portfolio books.
In agreeing to the rules when you entered the awards, you have already consented to this limited usage. However, as a courtesy we would be grateful if you would read the following and confirm that you agree to this usage and also to confirm some important points about your entry.
I confirm that:
1. The copyright of all submitted images/videos belongs to me.
2. Travel Photographer of the Year can use my shortlisted images for media purposes in connection to the awards if requested.
3. For portfolio categories – none of my shortlisted portfolios have won an award before as a whole portfolio in an international travel photographic competition.
4. For single image categories – none of my single images shortlisted have won a single image prize in another international travel photographic competition
5. Travel Photographer of the Year can publish my images in a TPOTY portfolio book if selected.
6. Travel Photographer of the Year can exhibit my images at TPOTY exhibitions if selected.
7. My images meet the awards' requirements re digital manipulation (These are: You may use digital manipulation to optimise an image, and you may crop an image but you are not permitted to add or remove key elements of the composition. Brightness, contrast, colour balance can all be adjusted. Dust spots and minor elements etc. can be retouched. Images can be sharpened before printing. Manipulations which could realistically be achieved in a darkroom will be accepted but the judges have the discretion to reject any image which has been, in their opinion, over-manipulated, removing the integrity of the original image. Composite or montaged images, from more than one original image are not eligible – this includes images shot at different exposures/dynamic ranges and combined. Images stitched to form a panoramic image will be accepted provided that the entrant declares, at the time of submission, that the final image has been produced in this way. Multiple exposure ‘in camera’ is permitted.) I understand that if I have breached these rules, my entry will be disqualified even if is initially judged an award-winner.
