Upgrade or further qualifications in a relevant area through a recognised Higher Education provider at Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) level 8, 9 or 10 - Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Masters Degree, Doctoral Degree.Micro-credential in a relevant area from an approved provider.Upskilling Course conducted by approved providerProfessional Seminar: e.g. reputable professional speaking at a workplace organised seminar or webinar, including activities such as clinical meetings, grand rounds.Workplace Training/Workshop: such as demonstration of equipment, treatments by Reps.Online Professional Development activity with assessment component or interactive webinar.Audit of your personal practice as an orthoptist including reflection and discussion with a senior colleague with a view to improvement in practice.Audit on behalf of and directed by your employer or a third-party, e.g. cataract IOL outcomes.

Reading and completion of an assessment based on certain journal papers.Active group reading requiring discussion such as Journal Club, including interactive online Journal Club.Reading activity - relevant professional literature, including online.Self organised activity such as clinic/hospital visits.

Service to the profession (unpaid), e.g. positions related to Orthoptics Australia (OA) or AOB such as OA national or state positions, representing OA or AOB on external organisations, conferences organisation or AOB accreditation panels.Volunteer (unpaid) Eye Camps: - International e.g. Cambodia Vision, Vision Beyond Aus - National e.g. eye screening.Speaking to external agencies (unpaid), e.g. support groups, including live online presentations.

Accreditation is assessed on the activity providing development beyond the competencies required as a beginning practitioner, its relevance to orthoptic practice/knowledge, the participation level and time involved in the activity. Sufficient information is required in this application to assess the activity accordingly.
