Common Rooms Cash
Guess who’s back? Our venue Fringe Common Rooms is preparing to reopen – and we want to help get artists back on their feet too. Things might be a little different while we all adapt to this 'new normal', but at Fringe one thing hasn't changed: our commitment to supporting independent artists.
Common Rooms Cash is a program designed to help artists make their shows and gigs financially viable while taking COVID-19 restrictions into account. We're supporting one-off shows and gigs that can take place between August and October 2020 with free venue hire and up to $1000 of cold hard cash.
Got a sweet idea for a performance, gig, workshop, poetry night or another sort of event entirely? We would LOVE to hear from you!
What do you get?
Up to $1000 cash to support your creative vision.
FREE venue hire
Up to a 4hr call with standard venue technician (additional time charged at $40 per hour)
70% gross box office
What are we looking for?
Events with an established audience (e.g a comedy night)
Events designed for an intimate audience that will sell-out
Events that can have audience in-person and also livestream
Events that connect people (not physically!)

What do we need from you?
Your brilliant show idea that we can put on for an audience of approximately 30 per session (in line with government physical distancing regulations)
Adhere to Melbourne Fringe’s COVIDSafe procedures whilst at the venue, including physical distancing and hygiene requirements.
Events must occur in August, September or October 2020.
