ATTENTION
ARE YOU A LEVEL 1 or 2 COACH?
- Softball NSW would like to invite you to further your coach education and skill acquisition by not reaccrediting your old level 1 or 2, but rather attaining the next level of accreditation.
- Softball Australia has replaced the coaching accreditation levels 1-3 with a single accreditation called Foundation Coach. It consists of 4 online theory modules and a competency assessment.
- The next steps for you are to complete the online module - training and practice and or managing games.
- After you have completed all the online modules, a competency assessment will be the final step for you to achieve your Foundation Coach Accreditation.
- The benefits of you taking the next steps are you as a coach become more informed and experienced, the real beneficiaries are your players. They will be taught by a more experienced coach. As the Director of Coaching, I would love nothing more than all players in softball being further developed through higher educated coaches.
For Reaccreditation please follow the steps below:
- Complete the Sport Australia Essential Skills Community Coaching Course (previously Sport Australia Community Coaching or Officiating General Principles) every four years.
- Coaches Code of Conduct must be completed, signed.
- Coaching Updating Activity Sheet.
- Foundation must achieve a total of 100 points over four years from any category.
- Performance (Level 4-6 coaches) must achieve a maximum of 25 points per year and a minimum of 20 points in each category, and complete the Coaching Updating Activity Sheet to validate their updating activities
Please do not hesitate to contact the Softball NSW office if you have any questions on the accreditation.
