We are looking for short film concepts with a distinctive voice and original ideas.
Each applicant must submit 2-3 short film concepts and a writing sample.
Use the boxes below to include written outlines of two or three ideas for short films. Each outline should be less than half a page long, and should explain the plot and tone of the film. We need to know what happens in the film. There is a 250 word limit for each concept.
The short film concepts can be at any stage, from new ideas through to first or second drafts. If you do have a full draft of a screenplay for any of your ideas, please submit the screenplay with your application. Please indicate the current status of each concept – new idea, draft script or developed project (e.g. multiple drafts written, storyboards, some creative team attached, etc.)
For this year's successful lab applicants, it is expected that either a first draft or a new draft of a screenplay for at least on of your short film ideas will be completed in the weeks proceeding the lab.
If you do not have a screenplay to submit, we need to see a sample of your creative writing. Please submit examples of other screenwriting (no more than 5 pages) or an alternative written form (no more than 2 pages).
