  • 2014 Preservation Achievement Awards

    Nomination Guidelines
  • NOMINATION DEADLINE: January 30, 2014 5pm

    Each year the Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia presents the Preservation Achievement Awards to a select group of individuals, organizations, businesses and projects from throughout the region that exemplify outstanding achievement in the field of historic preservation.

    The awards honor projects involving the preservation or protection of historic resources including the restoration, rehabilitation or adaptive reuse of historic properties; sympathetic new construction or additions to historic properties; or education, documentation and advocacy work on behalf of historic preservation.

    WHAT?
    Celebrate recent achievements (projects must have been substantially completed in 2013) in historic preservation for these eligible activities:

    • Preserving/protecting historic resources (in the built environment)
    • Historic building restoration, rehabilitation or adaptive reuse
    • Sympathetic new construction or additions associated with historic properties
    • Education or advocacy efforts related to historic preservation
    • Documenting significant historic resources (in the built environment)

    WHERE?  
    Projects within the following counties are eligible:
        PA: Philadelphia, Delaware, Chester, Bucks, Montgomery
        NJ: Burlington, Camden, Gloucester
        DE: New Castle

    WHO?  
    A Grand Jury of preservation professionals chooses award winners.

    WHY?
    Award winners are chosen based on these criteria:

    • The quality of the work or the outcomes of the activity
    • The need that was met
    • How the project or activity increased awareness of historic preservation
    • Impact on neighborhood revitalization
    • How children/adults/community/residents/visitors benefited

    HOW?  
    1. Complete your name and email address below and hit SUBMIT. A new screen will open with a link for you to click to begin the nomination process. You will also receive an email with this link.

    2. Upload all required files where requested, pay submission fee, and submit the Nomination Form. (You will be able to stop and continue filling out this form another time if you need to.)

    If you do not remit payment electronically at the end of the nomination form process, please mail a check for $50, payable to Preservation Alliance, to: Awards Nomination, Preservation Alliance, 1608 Walnut Street #1300, Philadelphia, PA 19103.


    ONE LAST THING--TWO HEADS ARE NOT ALWAYS BETTER THAN ONE!
    Please be sure to check with all the key players on your project team- building owner/developer, architects and consultants- before you put together your submission to assure that you are not duplicating an effort.

    DEADLINE: January 30, 2014, 5pm

    Awards will be judged by our Grand Jury in early February. Notification will be sent via email and mail. Award winners will be honored at the Preservation Alliance Achievement Awards event in May 2014.
