To check out my local shelter and inquire about volunteer opportunities as well as donation and supply needs to help homeless pets in my community.
To be sure that if I already have a dog, he/she is wearing proper identification just in case he/she becomes lost. I will also consider microchipping my pet if he/she isn't already.
To consider having my pet spayed/neutered if he/she isn't already. Not only will this help reduce the number of pets taken into shelters each year, but it will also help to keep my pet happy and healthy!
To tell my friends and family that October is Adopt-A-Dog Month to help save a life today!
